VR Porn Websites, Please Stop Doing These Things :(

Welcome back to VR Porn Bro, the place where we love to talk about…you guessed it… VR porn 🙂 Today is more of a topical piece that I intend to expand on over time. As the VR Porn Bro I get to experience a lot more sites than the average user, and over time I start seeing annoying patterns emerging. When I see such patterns, I am going to talk about them here. If you have noticed any of your own annoyances with VR porn sites, we would love to hear all about it in the comments section below.

Without further ado, here are our current annoyances with VR porn sites:

Stop Trying to Stealth Charge Us

I have noticed that pretty much all of the VR porn sites that I have paid for have these annoying techniques they try and use to squeeze more money out of us. Often, on the payment screen you will see something like this:

some vr porn sites try to trick you in to paying more

The problem here is that the size of the font used is tiny and setup to deliberately trick you into buying an up-sell that you didn’t expect. And it’s a trial price for 2 days, so it doesn’t add much to your cart total. However, if you don’t cancel after that two days it will re-bill you at the full price. In my view, these are underhand tactics that VR porn studios should stop. We want to trust the companies we buy from, and tactics like that totally undermine the whole thing.

Up-sells are fine, just not hidden ones. Have a pop up or text which is bigger than the rest of the text to ask customers if they want to add these extras, not try to hide them. This is what other business’ do. Sometimes, I feel that porn sites think they can get away with such tactics as the people they are tricking will be too embarrassed to complain!! Although I wonder who is pushing this, the payment provider or the porn site themselves.

And, even when we are members, they are still trying to trick us!! Take a look at the image below.

beware of these exclusive offers

See that small print!! That after the one day trial they will start charging you in full for a monthly subscription. If the text used is bigger then no problem, but the fact they are trying to hide this behind small print is untrustworthy and makes me not want to give them my business. What they should do is offer a free day preview or a day for $1, as you are a member. Then, when the day is up, they should ask you again if you want to subscribe!

And be careful when you see adverts for other websites that say “join now”. I clicked one once and was taken to this other website where it said “thank you for joining” and starting billing me. For things like this, they should have something that pops up on the new site asking you if you are sure that you want to subscribe.

The fact they would use such tactics on already paying customers boggles my mind. They might get some short-term gains, but in the long term they are just damaging their relationships with their customers! Ridiculous!

Show us some love!

There are a growing amount of organizations that own a number of VR porn websites these days. We can look at BadoinkVR, with their sister sites RealVR, 18VR etc. Basically, a lot of VR porn studios that have grown a decent amount usually start thinking about making new VR sites. Usually, to niche down on these websites and make them more specific. The problem here is that it is rare for these organizations to offer any real discount to customers of one site to another. They may give you a 2 day trial for free or something else pretty nominal, but no solid discounts from site to site.

Surely this is bad business! You have a loyal customer for one of your sites, but you are still going to pretty much charge them full price to join another site in your group. A lot of companies now have 3 or 4 (or even more) sites under their umbrellas, how many people are going to pay $60-100 a month to subscribe to all of them? Not many! But, if you give members a 50% discount on sister sites many more will surely take you up on this.

This is why I love VirtualTaboo at the moment. A good variety of VR porn on one site for one monthly fee. They are not sectioning out their content to make new sites and charge you more! Until these ‘groups’ of sites start giving loyal customers discounts, I don’t see the need to change.

Stop Using Pink!!

Unfortunately, in the 80s, pink became a color linked to adult activities in the sex industry. Red-light districts and such like! This (along with other garish colors) has made its way onto way too many VR porn sites! It really brings down these sites, in my opinion. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel that such color schemes come across as seedy! I would much rather drop the 80s porn vibe and go with something more classy!

To be fair, I have noticed a drop in these types of color schemes in recent years!

this is what the vrhush homepage looks like.
vr porn sites please stop using pink!

Stop Using MS Paint Logos!!

I know that there are some VR porn sites without much money, but it still amazes me how bad some of their logos are. If it was a decade or so ago I would be more forgiving, as logos were more expensive to make back then. However, currently there are countless ways to make amazing looking logos for not much money!

Get with the logo program VR porn studios!! Just look at some of these!

a rubbish logo but a great vr player app!
